I want to start this blog by saying that I am no makeup artist & I'm definitely not claiming to be one. I'm just a girl that loves to play dress up & makeup allows me to do just that.
Normally, I shy away from eyeshadows in general. I'm a wing & mascara girl but it's important to know how to complete a look. Down below is a step by step smokey eye that I created using the naked 2 palette (only eyeshadows I own), bare minerals primer & MAC's pressed pigment.
Step One: Apply any primer on your entire lid. Primer allows your shadows pigmentation to really shine out.
Step Two: On the Naked 2 palette I applied the color SUSPECT on my entire lid. When applying the shadow, brush down to really color in the lid.
Step Three: Over the color SUSPECT, I applied MAC's Pressed Pigment in Blonde Streak over the entire lid as well. This additional application shade created the perfect base color for the smokey eye.
Step Four: On the crease, I applied the TEASE. It's a wonderful matte taupe color that helped defined the eye lid.
Step Five: I applied BLACKOUT along the crease and outter corner to created that pronounced smokey eye effect. My tip for a mess free finish is shake the excess shadow from the brush before applying to the crease and lid. Make sure to blend it so that you don't have the raccoon eye look!
Step Six: I applied HALFBAKED in the inner corner of my eyes to create that pop!
Step Seven: I applied BOBBI BROWN DENIM eye liner pot along my eye to dramatize my eye shape. I didn't not do a full wing look. Just traced as close as possible to define my shape.
Step Eight: I applied BOBBI BROWN eyeliner on my bottom inner duct and a little on the outside to define the shape & create a more dramatic look. I used the color Black Plum to brighten out my brown eye color.
Step Nine: I applied YSL SHOCKING mascara. Every girl needs their lashes to look drastic and full. YSL does just that!
Final Step: I took a MAC large brush (generally used for blush) and smoothed the entire eye to blend all colors in case I missed when applying.
On my lips I used MAC SHY GIRL. It's a neutral nude pink to complete my look.
Hope you found this useful!
Ciao!
